Terms of Service

Effective Date: April 6, 2026 Last Updated: April 6, 2026 Contact: legal@pantoh.app

These Terms of Service govern your use of Pantoh Commons, operated by CookingSocial LLC. By using Pantoh Commons, you agree to these Terms. They apply to End Users (people who use the app to find resources, volunteer, or connect with their community) and Partner Organizations (nonprofits and community groups that manage listings and volunteers). Sections that apply to only one type are clearly marked.

A note on upcoming features. Pantoh Commons is actively evolving. Some capabilities described in our product communications and marketing materials — including donation collection and additional partner tools — are in development and not yet available. New features will be governed by these Terms when they launch and may be subject to additional terms specific to that feature.

01

Who We Are and What Pantoh Commons Does

Pantoh Commons is a community platform built to help people find resources, connect with local organizations, and take action in their communities. The platform is operated by CookingSocial LLC.

End Users can:

  • Find community resources including food assistance, shelter, immigration support, wellness services, and mutual aid
  • Volunteer with local nonprofits and track hours and impact
  • Access bilingual resource guides on SNAP/WIC, shelter, and immigration
  • Engage with their community through events and bulletins

Partner Organizations can:

  • Maintain a verified public profile and service listings
  • Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers
  • Communicate with their community via campaigns and announcements
  • Participate in our Community Certification program
02

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pantoh Commons. If you are under 18, you may only use the app with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Partner organizations must be legally organized entities operating in the United States. Certain features may require additional legal authorization, tax-exempt status, or other documentation.

03

Accounts and Authentication

End Users

Pantoh Commons uses Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In for authentication. We do not offer email/password accounts. Notify us at legal@pantoh.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

Open Door Mode

You may use limited features without creating an account. In Open Door mode, we do not collect any personally identifiable information, do not track your activity, and do not create persistent identifiers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Partner Organizations

Partner accounts require a designated administrator. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your organization's account. You may not share login credentials outside your authorized team.

04

Subscription Tiers and Billing Partners Only

Pantoh Commons offers a free tier and several paid subscription tiers for partner organizations. Current tier names, features, and pricing are listed at commons.pantoh.app and within the partner portal. We may add, remove, or modify tiers, features, and pricing from time to time.

Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in U.S. dollars through Stripe. Annual plans are billed upfront; monthly plans renew at the start of each billing period. Fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

Price changes

We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase that affects your active subscription. Increases take effect on your next renewal — never mid-period. You may cancel before the increase takes effect.

Downgrades and cancellation

You may change or cancel your subscription at any time from the partner portal. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Cancellation does not delete your organization's profile; you retain access on the free tier.

05

Volunteer Program All Users

Volunteer management is available to partner organizations on certain paid subscription tiers; current eligibility is listed on the pricing page. By participating as a volunteer, you agree that your hours and activity will be recorded and shared with the partner organization, your name and contact information will be visible to authorized staff at that organization, and any badges you earn may be shared publicly if you choose. Partner organizations are responsible for complying with all applicable laws governing volunteers, including labor, liability, and supervision requirements.

06

Community Certification All Users

Pantoh Commons operates a Community Certification program. Pantoh — together with designated community partners (for example, the HVLGBTQ Center for Safe Space certifications) — issues certifications to businesses and organizations against publicly documented criteria such as safe-space, bilingual-friendly, or accessibility commitments.

Nominated businesses are notified by email and may decline or remove a certification at any time using a link contained in that notification. Business information displayed alongside a certification (name, address, hours, location) is sourced from Google Places. Certifications may be revoked when criteria are no longer met or at the request of the certified party.

A Community Certification is a directional signal, not a guarantee. Pantoh does not continuously monitor and is not responsible for the day-to-day conduct of certified parties. Users should exercise their own judgment when relying on a certification.

07

AI-Assisted Features All Users

Pantoh Commons includes Pantoh AI to help users find resources and navigate the platform.

  • Conversation history is stored on your device only. We do not store conversations on our servers.
  • Pantoh AI is trauma-informed and includes crisis resource references. It is not a substitute for professional mental health, legal, or medical advice.
  • AI responses may not always be accurate. Verify critical information with a qualified professional.
  • System prompts governing AI behavior are infrastructure-level settings and are not editable at runtime.
08

Content You Submit

End Users

You may submit field reports, daily intent entries, and community responses. You represent that content you submit does not violate anyone's rights and is not false, misleading, or harmful. Field reports are permanently anonymous — we cannot link a field report to your identity even if requested by law enforcement.

Partner Organizations

You are responsible for all content posted under your account. You represent that you have rights to post it, it is accurate and not misleading, and it complies with all applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is harmful to the community.

09

Prohibited Conduct All Users

You may not use Pantoh Commons to:

  • Impersonate any person, organization, or entity
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information about services or resources
  • Collect personal information about other users without their consent
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform or its infrastructure
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Discriminate against users or volunteers on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data without our written permission
10

Intellectual Property

CookingSocial LLC owns all rights in the Pantoh Commons platform. You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant CookingSocial LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for operating and improving the platform. The platform incorporates data from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and Google Places ("Powered by Google").

11

Third-Party Services

Pantoh Commons integrates with Google (authentication and maps), Apple (authentication), Stripe (payments), Postmark (email), and others listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

12

Disclaimers

Resources listed in Pantoh Commons are for informational purposes only. We do not operate, manage, or guarantee the availability, quality, or accuracy of any listed resource. Always contact the organization directly to confirm hours, eligibility, and availability.

13

Limitation of Liability

Some states do not allow limitation of certain damages. In those states, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CookingSocial LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of Pantoh Commons, content you submit, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

15

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your continued access poses a risk to the platform or its users. To request account deletion, contact legal@pantoh.app. Partner organizations that terminate will retain Presence-tier access until the end of their billing period.

16

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration under AAA rules, conducted in New York. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action proceeding, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

17

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you through the app or by email for material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
